Update – we are postponing the event to a letter date- stay tune- In the past month Minnesota has seen many actions, and of what it has shown us is that it is really the youth that are leading our movements for social change. They have been tirelessly out on the streets, vocalizing their pain and frustration against the system that is oppressing us, fighting for justice on the front lines. This protest is organized by youth, led by youth, and it is for everyone who stands behind them in our continued struggle. This is a critical moment to show up for the next generation and empower them to raise their voices and fight for the world that they’ll live in tomorrow.
Our message to the youth: organize your friends and networks to show up. This is a statewide movement, and it only exists when YOU speak up and demonstrate to the world that is is OUR generation that recognizes the courage and commitment it takes to keep this fight going and to revoke any vestiges of white supremacy, police brutality and any form of systemic racism in our state. WE need to lead this charge. That is what this event is about. Organize your school, bring out your friends and classmates, wear your school colors, and tell those in power that you’re young but your voice matters too. We’re counting on you.
“This is a time for bold measures. This is the country, and you are the generation.” — Bono
This will be a socially distanced protest. Please wear masks and expect to maintain a six-foot distance.
