About this Event
The Harrow Council Black Lives Matter Staff Group was created following the death of George Floyd that once again highlighted the deep inequalities and systemic racism that still exists in many countries including the UK.
Our work is supported by Leader of the Council, Cllr Graham Henson and our sponsor, Sean Harriss, who have both committed the Council to developing a programme addressing inequalities, diversity and inclusion in Harrow for our communities and staff.
We will be launching the BLM Staff Group on 8 September from 10am-11am where we will be joined by Sean Harriss. At the meeting, you can express your concerns and views about your experiences of racism, and what the Black Lives Matter movement means to you. Joining instructions and a link for the first meeting will be sent to you nearer the time.
Now is the time for us to have those uncomfortable conversations and to make necessary changes to ensure racism, of any kind, stops.
We are committed to improving the life chances of c and will help you find your voice, walking by your side to ensure your message is heard loud and clear. If you have something to say but would like to remain anonymous you can send your questions or comments in advance to us on BLM@harrow.gov.uk
If you have any queries about the group or need some advice please email us on BLM@harrow.gov.uk
If you have already been in contact with us about how you can get involved to help shape the BLM agenda in Harrow, we will be in touch very soon.
This is a movement not a moment!
