Instigated from the protest movement that has risen up since the police killing of George Floyd, the ‘Get Off Our Necks’ March on Washington will be a day of action that will demonstrate our commitment to fighting for policing and criminal justice.
The Commitment March will take place on August 28th 2020 — the 57th anniversary of the historical March on Washington, where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech.
Join us as we travel to DC to participate in this 57th year Anniversary of the March on Washington.
The busses will leave on Thursday morning and plan to arrive in Washington D.C. Thursday evening and drop off at one location. Busses will leave that same location on Friday morning to take guests to and from the March.
Only transportation to Washington D.C., to and from the March, and back to Indianapolis, IN are included in this price. Drinks and snacks will be provided roundtrip, and are also included in the price. Accommodations and incidentals are the responsibility of each guest.
As we continue to add details to the trip, guests will be updated. We are currently working on reserving blocks of rooms for guests to reserve, and have already requested tickets to the National Museum of African American History and Culture Museum Friday afternoon, and Saturday morning, both of which will be on a first come basis while availability lasts. Paid guests will be notified as these become available.
We want to ensure that as many as possible can attend this historic event, including our young people. Youth 10 and up may attend, and tickets for ages 10-20 have been supplemented and offered at a discounted rate. Youth 10-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
